Hey guys. Very new to this... Only finished a couple knives so far. I thought I would show this one and see what you guys and gals think! Hoping for some constructive criticism. It's 1084, heat treated in-house. I think I'll do a bit more work on the handle before i call it good. Please let me know what you think, good or bad!

It looks pretty good, but you're right, the handle needs a bit more work.

I question the usefulness of the point on the butt of the handle. I see myself getting jabbed with it every time I reach for the knife.

Thanks for posting!! And i do agree about the handle point thing... I'm considering rounding it off and drilling a lanyard hole.

I saw the point on the handle and thought of a specialty tool. A rockbound who is constantly chipping off samples, busting open bones to get the marrow, but ya it might stab ya (smile) over all nice design, good luck with it.

The original intention for the point was to split bones, but most people just think it's annoying. It would also be nice to crush a spindle hole in a rock for your bow drill. Thanks for the compliments guys!

You could also leave the end for the intention, and design a sheath with a strap that covers that tip, or make a cap that is on the knife that covers that end and can be pulled off when you need that point. Either way it’s a dandy knife.
