kershaw Joined forces with Dmitry Sinkevich for 2014 to create the Nura 3.0 and Nura 3.5. The Nura models have a "aerospace" feel, inspired by Dmitry's engineering background.

Both the 3.0 and 3.5 are using 8cr13mov steel, KVT bearings, and are frame lock flippers. The handles are Titanium Carbo-Nitride coated 410 stainless, with sanded flats for a clean two-tone affect.

This will be the first imported Kershaw to use KVT bearings, did I mention both the 3.0 and 3.5 only have an MSRP of $54.00?

Specifications;

Nura 3.0 (Model No. 4030TIKVT)

Blade, 3"
Handle, 4.1"
Steel, 8cr13mov
KVT bearings
Lock, Frame lock
Deployment method, flipper
MSRP of $54.00 (street will be around $35.00!)

Nura 3.5 (Model No. 4035TIKVT)

Blade, 3.5"
Handle, 4.6"
Steel, 8cr13mov
KVT bearings
Lock, Frame lock
Deployment method, flipper
MSRP of $54.00 (street will be around $35.00!)

Photos (comparison with a blackwash leek as well). :D

As for my own personal thoughts on this knife, I think it's going to sell better than the cyro. A frame lock flipper running on bearings for a street price of around $35? I could ask for more. It will definitely give the CRKT ripple series a run for it's money!

Disclaimers: ETA's are currently not available. Tweaks to the design and specifications for are subject to change for final production. The images above are property of KAI USA Ltd. and posted here with their permission. I do not speak for or represent Kershaw or KAI USA. I'm just a knife nut that happens to like many of Kershaw's and ZT's knives and was given the privilege of providing sneak peaks here for some of their new products.

I will try to answer any questions that may arise. :)

DISCUSS!!!

Interesting, but not my cup of tea. Especially that single screw pocket clip.

Wish this would've been a ZT production knife made in the USA with ti and a better steel.

Sleek design, great blade shape but I'm also not a fan of the single screw clip.

Love the blade shape and the handle, don't love the steel. Still tho I bought a cryo and had a heck of a fun time customizing it all up, for the price I'll probabily do that with one of these. It's just beggin to have all the brushed parts of the handle painted white.

Other things I like- both sizes being released together (is that correct or is this the same way they did the cryo 1/2?), single screw (plus pivot) construction that also holds the clip.

Love the design and really like the single screw clip, something different and simple!

Wow! That's all I can really say...a budget Kershaw on KVT?! This knife looks so classy. I especially like the way the handle of the 3.5 contours back up to lock your hand in place!

And IMO, the single screw pocket clip doesn't take away from the design. Works for Strider.

Agreed, love the pommel execution on the 3.5. Very functional but it doesn't take anything away from the overall aesthetic.

Sinkevich, yes finally! The man's designs are absolute genius and totally unlike anything out there. To use a ridiculous cliche, they genuinely look "futuristic". Obviously I would have preferred this to be a ZT model, but oh well!

Now just make a production ZT version of this:

Single position clip and 8Cr? Those are nothing spec... wait, did you say KVT bushings? This reminds me of a Sesame Street song about something not fitting in...

I dig 'em. The price is right and with KVT these could have very high fidget-factor, which I dig. Any word on weights?

Gorgeous blades but I do think there is a heavy GTC and Shirogorov influence in there.
