While browsing the KSF site I noticed the courier belt pouch. If you’re not familiar with the original here’s his video introducing the original.

I liked what I saw except that it was designed for sub 4” knives. I wasn’t sure that it would fit my incoming #44 Madison Barlow. I emailed Derrick, explained that my typical carry was a two spring #53 or two spring #23 with thick stag and said it’d be great if the courier would fit the larger ( 4”+) frames. He simply replied, “I’ll have a few made”.

Well it’s here. Today is the first day that it’s on my belt ( 1.40” width). I’ve squeezed in my largest #23 to loosen things up.

I’ll update this with my thoughts after a few days of use.

It looks to be winner!!

I own one, and it is where my Madison Barlow spends its time when not in use. A perfect fit. I own both a standard size and large. Both extremely well made.

One feature I really appreciate is that the loops that hold the pack to the belt are quite tight, so the pack stays in place, unlike many other belt sheaths I own.

That's a pretty serious piece of kit! Care to post photos from a couple more angles? I'm most interested to see how far it would protrude off one's belt.

Wow very interesting... Yes please more pics and also interior dimensions? Pics in particular of the flap open and a knife inside? And as said above a review of the way it rides and feels on the belt, how far it sticks out, etc

I am curious to know how well the #23 fits in this, would it be a good choice for this size in particular?
How easy is it to extract the 23 while on the belt?

Looks like another KSF winner

Here it is with a 23 in it.

Honestly, I can't tell you which is my favorite way to carry my Barlow--this or with a pocketslip. This is a genuinely classy way to carry your traditional.

I got the idea from two places--one was a failed attempt I did at converting our Moccasin to a horizontal carry sheath (what a horrible failure!) and second an old, probably WW I ammo case that used the same kind of closure.

It looks a little big for just one pocket knife, but maybe that's me thinking about it as a glasses case. It looks smaller in the vid, but still a little large. What might be really cool is a version of that which would allow you to carry a flashlight with it and/or a lighter with it.

It does look big. The one in the video is smaller than this one.

It looks big for two reasons. Really three.

First, it is big because this one is designed to carry big knives (like the 23).

Second, because of the construction, it looks bigger than it needs to be. I call it "Canoe construction" (a technical term). the ends are sewn up in such a way they taper all the way to the end. It allows the sheath to hold a variety of sized knives without being too big or too small for any of them. A large knife will just push out the taper and eventually stretch to fit. The smaller knives are held securely because the taper brings the leather into contact with the knife.

Third, it is wider than you would think. It is wider because it has to be slightly wider than the belt that goes through the loop on the back. We scooped out the front to allow easy access to your knife.

I will be interested to see the review. I find that it feels smaller on the belt than your would think. It doesn't stick out far and hugs your belt pretty tight. I don't even notice it on my belt, but it keeps my knives very handy.

Sorry no more pics yet. Think of it as a cell phone case for your knife. Dimensions are 6"x2 5/8"x1 5/8". A tad over 1.5" in width isn't very far off of my belt.

Thank You for the pics Derrick. I like the functionality of the peg/slit closure. They are secure and quiet. No snap, and no tearing sound. That looks like it will fit some of my larger folders quite well, and horizontal carry is my preference for those. No snagging on the seatbelt buckle, etc. and low key ;)
Well Done on these! :thumbup::thumbup:

Bonus update. The large courier fits my 4.5" Tuna Valley! So you English Jack guys may be in luck.

I now have the large and small courier belt sheath plus the large and small pocket pouch. I know...all my Northwood knives come in a moccasin pouch. But I find the moccasin pouch to be bulky in the pocket. So I store my knives in the supplied moccasin pouch, and carry them in either the belt sheath or pocket pouch. The colors of my sheaths may not look like the store photos as I treat all my leather products with Lexol.

Beautiful photograph-- thanks! Seeing the products together, and together with knives, is very helpful.

(That blue is some of the best I've seen....)

KSF's leather arrives thirsty, as you've noted; I quench mine with Obenauf's. :)

I just ordered the original Main Street Pocket slip; I've been meaning to do this for several months, and for whatever reasons, when I think about buying a knife for my collection, I never think of a pocket sheath. Thanks for the reminder OP.
