First Negative Sheeple Reaction

I've got enough to worry about with people and sharks. Go rent "My Super Ex-Girlfriend." A lady throws a shark at her ex-boyfriend and his new lover. What knife could match that?

Thanks for the kind words, Esav!

how about the Shark Knife that can nibble you. . .

They all know where to come when they need something opened though , dont they ? :)
Indeed. I have an $8 swisstool utilikey I give them :) Last week a fireman was here inspecting, and he needed into a locked door. He asked to borrow someone's pocket knife to slip the lock so they came to me. My response was "The &*^$ you're using MY knife" I like my BM 610 with it's tip intact.

I brought an old CRKT Kasper crawford SE to work the next day to leave in my toolbox.

Speaking of sheeple. If all goes well I'll be rotating through my BM610 with my new ZT0301.

I think that LikeHike's point was that the public has no concept of risk perception - but everyone has a paranoia about being attacked. Statistically speaking, we're most likely to die of cancer or a heart-attack, but still fear shark attacks or terrorism or just the neighbourhood psycho killer (whatever weapon he may favour).

I once heard a guy interviewed on the radio, saying the most dangerous weapon in all of the US is not the gun or the knife it's. . . the fork. Half the children currently being born will likely end up with type 2 diabetes because of poor eating, along with other weight-related health concerns that will shorten lifespans and lower quality of life.

Well, my fellow knife enthusiasts, I'm happy I'm not alone on this. I wanted to share a bad experience of mine but I was too embarrased :o . Now, after reading this, let me tell you:
I work in a production line of a high-tech company (a major one). Each worker has its own tool box with everything he needs to do the job. We have to open many nylon bags & cardboard boxes during the day. I usually carry in the left pocket of my shop coat my Spyderco UK knife because I simply can't without it; it is so useful :D ! Once I was warned not to use it on the production line, so I keep it most of the time in my pocket. I lost (or someone stole) a box cutter I had in my tool box so I used my UK knife & lef it on the tool box while working. My boss saw it  & confiscate it, called me to his office  & suspended me until next week for using what he called "a slaughtering tool"! (please forgive my poor translation of his words) :barf: .

I would never work for fools like that.

... suspended me until next week for using what he called "a slaughtering tool"!

He's an idiot. Unfortunately, he's the boss. It's ironic you picked the most inoffensive knife possible but he still feels justified overdramatizing his own psychological afflication.

Part of my point above is that people are sometimes ridiculed as "sheepies" because they freak when they see a knife. If we want to carry and use knives among the public without hassle it is important to understand that they are not just overreacting and how it looks from their perspective.

People are over reacting , mostly due to the way the media and tv portrays things. Think years ago when everyone carried a knife , boy scouts , kids to school ,etc..... what happened to those times ? The media , news , TV and media brainwashed the people into becoming sheeple.

Of course whipping out that monster folder with a " shwack " opening in an office environment is certainly going to draw a different look than say doing it in the middle of the pit at Blade. When the choice is mine I surround myself with people who think like I do , but I also always take time to educate a few people on knives in general. Referring to them as tools instead of weapons is a great way to get your point across.

that 3 " knife would scare me to death. your much more prepared with with a 4"

If you ever see him cutting his food with a knife as him why he needs a slaughtering tool to cut his steak;)

Your boss sounds like a real idiot! He also stole your knife!!

Ain't that the truth! There are times I've told people my Chris Reeve Mountaineer I was "about $50" because they would never understand (only certain types of people), and I still get a weird look like "you spent $50 for a knife?" Haha. I wonder what would happen if I told the truth! Does anybody else sometimes downplay the cost of a good knife to avoid having to explain why they can be expensive sometimes?
Yeah i have a few relatives like that.
Typical conversation-"You spent 50$+ on a knife? Why i can get one at walmart for 5.99$ " And to put that into context this was said by a guy who in the past year and a half bought as 10,000 4 wheeler and a 9,000$ snowmobile and now feels he needs to buy another snowmobile for his occassional cabin guests to drive! Nice guy actually but he kinda has this blind spot.lol.
Ten years from now i'll still be using that 50$+ knife but those trikes/snowmobiles will be loooooong gone.

Is a 3" bladed knife too big for the office?!

For some sheeple, even a Spyderco Ladybug is too damn big...... And these are usually the same folks who'll go into the office pantry, and slice their sandwich in half with the cheap butcher knife everyone uses. The one that someone discovered in the pantry one day.

-They are overreacting. (A direct result of being an ignorant fool with no common sense)

-I am the public, as are we all.

-I know how it looks from their perspective. . . Very dark (when your head is firmly implanted in your own arse.)

-they are called "sheeple" by the way, not "sheepies".
