My new eskabar just arrive this morning... and what can I say, I'm thoroughly impressed, I;ve had a bk-11 in the past, but I like the extra bit of handle on the eskabar.. the blade was hair popping sharp, and the sheath retention is good, Will probably spring for scales down the road, but fhro 30 something dollars I'm impressed.
We all know what these look like so i;m going to wait to post pics till I can take her out on the town for a bit.
for now I;m planning a super minimal trip in may, this might "make the cut" as the only blade
Nice job Ethan, Kabar, and everyone else.. This is a great knife. I'll be getting a spare.

Congrats on the 14, it's an awesome little blade.

Congrats on a great blade. I'd recommend a set of scales, but it certainly changes the character of the blade. Goes from being a lightweight neck knife type to a more "full" feel. I'm sure that seems like stating the obvious, but the difference in hand is remarkable. If I was using it purely as a back up/lightweight I'd skip anything except maybe the new zytel (haven't tried em so that's a guess). If it's a more regular user- get a pair asap!

Enjoy

You will like the zytel on that! Especially if it's gonna be a light-weight Primary instead of a back-up, the zytel makes it a mini-bushcraft knife. If u buy a set and hate it..I will buy them from ya

LOVE the 14. With enough knowledge I thoroughly believe someone could get by in the woods with just this knife. And I second thrill, get those zytel scales and if you don't like em, you can sell the black ones to thrill and I'll take the orange ones (I believe he dislikes bright flashy colors as they startle and irritate him much like a bull :D)

Awesome. Glad to hear your back on the wagon. Congrats. Now try the 16

14 was my first Becker, what a great lil knife, bought one for my dad too for motorcycle trips. Get the TDI clip and the Zytel scales and you have an awesome, practical and easy to grab n' go fixed blade. Great choice.

Thanks for the comments guys, Just through a quick wrap on the handle for now, But I; will def be picking up some scales.
I got this with the purpose of being a mini primary woods blade, I was packing a bk 9, a mora and a sak, an realized for most things, having a small batonable fixed blade and a folding saw could handle most of my needs in a smaller package, I'll be posting pics in action once school lets out at the end of April.

I love my 14, I carry it more than anything. Ditto
On the scales. What folding saw do you suggest?

Just ordered myself a 14 a few hours ago! I really can't wait to get it! I am having it sent off to tuffthumbz to get some nice custom scales so I won't have it for a while :/ how sad! It's gunna be a long wait!

yeah, It's pretty sweet they can be found on line for a decent price as well, I;ve been using mine for about 4 years. no complaints,

that is purdy for sure...
Tkink I'll be getting them soon.
might get her a different pair of pants also

The stock sheath I got was terrible, dulled the edge and ratted so naturally made my own kydex but it looks like your not having that problem. Btw, are you gonna strip it and do all that patinary Clichy stuff?

don;t know yet, In the beginning of May I'm gonna take it out on a survival outing, see how it holds up and how it resharpens, before I personalize it too much..
Provided it all works out, whcih I assume it should, I'll strip it and add scales, and probably get a 2nd one.
The sheath is giving me a dull spot about 1 inch long, I'll probably get a new sheath down the road,
