Yes, you are incorrect. The use of any electronic device that produces a communications signal is forbidden. Laptops are can be used as long as any wireless device is disabled. Even if wireless were allowed there are no access points at 30,000ft. Airlines are working with the FAA for an approved onboard wireless internet service for laptops. It's only on trial approved flights right now. Hopefully sometime in 2006 it will be more widespread.
