Do you know if the sheath was sold by the Swamp Rat factory (either with the knife, or maybe as an option)?
That is a really good price on a great knife!

Thanks brother...I feel like it is a great price...we'll see what the market says...

As far as the sheath, anything I said would just be parroting what someone else has heard from their cousin's sister in law's best friend who worked in Wauseon in 1999.

But FWIW-- I've seen similar ballistic nylon sheaths bundled with Rats as "factory." Maybe a true HOG who's been around since the inception will weigh in.

Although they're not the flashiest they are low profile with solid molle back and easy to wipe down.

My Basic 8 has dutifully hiked many miles on my back sheathed in a similar rig that originally came with an old Regulator and has never failed me. It's especially functional for grabbing a hold of from the bottom and swinging my slingpack around front!
