first ouch this week

Musta been a fresh belt without a lot of metal on it. I have black scars all over the hands from micron belt cuts, but they rarely seemed to bleed much as the metal dust cauterized them it seems. Gotta love that mylar!

ray that's what happens most the time.
this was a worn belt I use to burnish my Leather

it's all better now, it's all filled in with shop stuff now.. :D
 
I got the knuckle on my left thumb about ten days ago. It was a 60 grit edge cut, down to the bone. If my wife had walked in she'd have had a fit. There was blood on the floor, grinder, work bench, and all over both hands. I had a hell of a time getting the bleeding stopped. As soon as I did I hit it with super glue, taped it up, and finished grinding the blade. Ain't knifemaking fun!!!
 
I had the buffer grab a blade last night. I got the Dreaded "Hanging flap of skin" cut :barf:

I have been thinking about two contests to have.

1 the dirty hands contest.
and
2 the most cut fingers contest.

i love the fact that when bladesmiths get cut they take the time to run into the house and get pictures taken before they clean it up.
or better yet those bladesmiths that keep the camera close by just encase :D ;)

I just lick it off chew on the loose ends and go back to work.. :)

I have this puter in the shop and my camera out here also ..

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA i laugh sometimes when i head into work and the first thing i have to do is spend about 10 minutes cleaning up my hands before i can even think of touching food.
atleast its not as messy as working on my 85 chevy usedto be :eek:
now that was fun. 7 minutes to get the hand dirty 7 days before they're clean
only problem is you're working on the truck 4 days a week.
 
Dan, I thought you just grabbed some hot steel, branded the wound, and then went right back to work. That's what I heard.
 
Here is a good one. I was punching out a pin in a knife, and slipped and the punch pierced my little finger. Didn't really hurt just bled through the two holes.

:D I did that once but it was a nail gun I did it with , now that was C@@L

John we need an oil change once in a while you know..if I don't bleed enough
I just go give blood :D
