first ouch this week

A couple days ago I had some forge scale falling on the top of my feet, insede the shoe, and did not care much, but now it hurts me everytime I put my shoes and there is huge hloe where the bubble formed. I'd rather have a few more cuts in the hands...

Anouther shop tip, don't forge weld(or electric for that matter!) with tennis shoes on. Ask me how I learned this :D

Dan I get grinds on the thumbs all the time, the worst was when I was using a Crapman 2x42 and got my thumb stuck in the gard with a 36 grit belt spinning.

OK,since we are being honest (and none of you can come over and laugh at me),I'll tell you what I did last night.I was flat grinding a batch of blades on the 14" wheel at full rippin' speed.I (yeah,I really did) put my thumb under the belt up on the top slack to "rub" out a deep scratch and -yeah- my thumb and that part of my palm went into the wheel.I felt as dumb as Suzan Sommers on qualudes( I also felt like my hand was a baseball and Babe Ruth was swingin' at it).I have told newbies not to do that over and over again, but still did it myself. The good part is that except for a little black and blue it is fine. The result is a temporary discomfort and a (hopefully) lifelong lesson.I am posting this to tell those who temp fate that fate always wins - sooner or later.
