Hey guys,

Last week we had our first overnighter in the new lavvu. It was great! It was a first for all of us. New tent, mats, bags etc. We had a great time. We really needed to get out and relax for a bit. The loss of our dog has hit us hard. We missed him a lot on this trip. But, we also got a change to finally relax and enjoy ourselves without him. Although it's not same and a bit weird.
A bit about the gear.
The tent is a Bison Tundra 8 lavvu. Single walled, no ground sheet tipi style tent. 3.5 meters high and 5 meters diameter. That's a lot of room! I bought a Kni-Co Alaskan stove for it and it works very good.
We (wife and I) slept on Exped down mats 7 in Mountain Equipment dreamcatcher down bags and they performed excellent. A bit warm for me, very good for my wife. We had the little one in her own tent which we put in the lavvu. She slept remarkably well. That's it for now, we had a taste of camping and we can't wait to get out again! Here are some photo's.

Something I have come to understand as "dog eye". Very hard to switch off when it has been vigilant for so long. I'll never be truly ready for it enough to adjust quickly despite practice.

Fun looking photos.

Nice set up. I'm sure you're going to enjoy the heck out of it.

That pink tent is exactly like the one Talfuchre uses.

Great pic's... I love the idea of the little one camping inside the lavvu! Looks like a very enjoyable overnight

I'm curious, is that lavvu something you could pack/canoe in with, or is it horse/car gear?
