not sure this post belongs here.....don't really know where else to put it though. anywayz...
went camping this weekend. brought one of my customs made by justin king. batoned wood and made shavings for our fire, processed food. :) anyhoo, since this was my blade's virgin camping trip, she got some scratches and scuffs. (i guess she's no longer a safe queen :D) i decided to throw a mustard patina on her afterwards to divert my eyes from the blemishes/protect the blade. this is how she turned out. i like it. this is my first attempt at a patina. comments welcome.

Looks *great*!!! I have a patina on my CS Trailmaster (via vinegar) and i really like yours as well.

It's a sweet looking knife that's for sure. If you don't mind sharing, what's the dimensions? thickness? steel? Is it your design or a Justin King standard design?

Looks good. A vinegar bath will darken it up if you want that. Nice.

thanks guys! the knife is probably mostly justin's design to my specs/measurements. :P i asked him to do a mini version of his monster chopper (which i also own)--originally i was going to do a tanto, but decided on a drop point. the knife is 01, 3/16" thickness and 4" blade w/ 4.5" handle. it's also a tapered tang. i think it's wearing olive drab g-10, not sure though.
