First play with Damascus

Had to try playing with some Damascus some time and this is the result.

Made from an off cut of 600 layer Damascus. There are a couple of defects but this is form me and my poor forging

what do you think?

It looks kind of odd to me. I don't care for the pattern I see on the mark side, but I really like the pattern on the other side.

I think the Pattern is very nice, kind of like "Flowing Water" pattern.

I am not an Art knife fan so the intricate pattern of canned Damascus (ie. Repeating pictures, Wile E. Coyote, etc) do not appeal to me. I certainly recognize the skill to make it as I have made a couple of Damascus pieces with real Knifemakers assistance, but I like the look of this one as it is more random and natural.
