First Post and a big "Thank You"

For the last several months I've been lurking around here soaking up information on knife making. Since I knew almost nothing about modern knives, there was a lot to digest. Thanks to everyone who has imparted that knowledge and special thanks to Moderator Apelt and to Kevin Cashen for so much GOOD info relating to the heat treatment of various steels.

After making a few small knives, I can see that this "hobby" can all too easily become an all-encompassing passion. In fact, I fear I am already too far in to back out now, so... Full speed ahead and no looking back!

When starting a new knife project, post your plans and specs first. Make a good drawing and post it, too. The folks here will critique the plan and offer suggestions and tips. This will greatly speed your learning curve.
