I have been lurking on the site for some time and finally decided to make my first post. I have collected knives for a long time, but just recently discovered the Becker knives. Wish I had found them sooner. I bought a 14 and decided that I needed something thicker to hold onto. I thought about the zytel or modded Izula micarta, but opted to sit down with a piece of elk antler this morning and see what I could come up with. It is kind of rough, but I like it. Chubby little handle that fills my hand. I have some prettier pieces of antler with more beading and darker color on them, but wanted to start with a plain piece to learn on. I liked this one enough that I have already ordered a few more knives so I can make some more.

Thanks for the great forum, for sharing your awesome knives and creative ideas, and for feeding my addiction.

Dang those are nice! I wish my handle making skills would match the sheath ones. I flat suck at making handles.

Awesome! I have a friend that would LOVE a fat stag-handled 14 like that. Very good start, and welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the addiction and great job on those scales. Love to see more mods.

Nice work. I have some deer, elk and moose Antlers I could use. I'm thinking a BK2 handle. Can you do a step by step or video, your work is awesome. Matt from Montana

Wow, those antler scales are growing on me. I've been thinking about other materials besides the usual phenolics and wood. How hard was it to work the antler? Have you worked with stone?
