Fresh meat served. Got my first what I would consider real knife delivered today.

The main part of the blade wasn't really sharp, would not cut hair so it will need a little work.

But the base of the blade caught me a little off guard and seems to be much sharper.

I've since ordered 8 more knives... Most are just $10-20 Ganzo's that I will give away as gifts and practice sharpening skills on. Planning on getting one Spyderco for now, either a Paramilitary 2 or a Southard. Then either a small Sebenza 21 or save up a little for a Marifone, of which there are quite a few of his I would love to have.

Sweet knife! Great first post. Keep us posted on your future blade adventures.

Great first pick! I'd suggest the PM2 over the Southard, both are great but the PM2 has fewer quirks.

Better sharpen that sucker up before you loan "your first real knife" to your barber when you get your next hair cut. :D

Times have changed, just a little. My first "real knife" was a Case Barlow.
