Very generous. Welcome to this forum. Lots of friendly folks. I really like barlows, and it's tough to pin point but I'd have to say that I carry this sturdy folder nearly everyday.
Thanks for the opportunity.

Oddly enough one of my favorite pics of it as well. (54 Big Jack burnt stag)

Thanks for the opportunity!

Now that's a great beginning. This weeks favorite is my new Michigan Jack. Next week....who knows? ;) Maybe a new Forum Knife?

Welcome to the forum ACKJM24. This community is really a wonderful place and a vast wealth of knowledge and talent. The community is filled with collectors, artists, and custom knife makers. Some have knife making down to a true science or art form. There are so many great folks here that will take the time to share some of their wealth of expertise and knowledge with us. It is the humbleness and generosity of some as well as the knowledge and facts stored here by many that makes this site so great to me. I bet you will enjoy your time here much like I have.
Many posts to come.
This is my favorite traditional knife. A Joseph Allen and Sons of Sheffield England. Circa 1920-1930 at latest. This is a NON XLL bowie knife. The company had a motto of sorts "NON XLL", which stood for "NONE EXCELL".
In 1883, Joseph Allen & Sons acquired the "NON-XLL" mark from Unwin & Rodgers... NON XLL was a competitor of Sheffield Wostenholm's "I*XL" company. The company went out of business in the 1930's. This knife is a safe queen of mine that will only see use hunting and camping on rare occasions.

Welcome, and thanks for the chance! Hard for me to pick a favorite (just like most everyone else), but. . .

Hard to beat my 85.

This one comes very close though.

I've been lurking on this forum for a while, looking around to see where I might fit in.

Having just retired from a career in law enforcement (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) I expected to be drawn to the familiar environs of the tactical discussions. Instead, I found myself pulling up a seat on the porch and settling in to learn about traditional knives from this most generous, kindly and knowledgeable group. What a treat it has been. Makes sense that my first post on bladeforums would be here.

My contribution will be this SAK that my wife bought me on the day I was sworn in. It has been my constant companion, occupying a place on my duty belt through many postings over 26 + years. It has been there for me, and a lot of folks in need on many, many occasions. In fact you can longer see the shield as its been worn away by hard use. This fellow is now being retired to the glove box of my truck where it can help my family for a few more years.

I don't yet have a GEC, but have read enough here to appreciate your generosity in gifting them.

Glad to be here,
O

Thanks for the opportunity. I am recently finding a renewed appreciation for traditional folders. I love and have been EDCing my Michigan Jack in bloodwood. I love it so much I have a stag one in the mail and will get a few more when the right finishes come up again. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1447720325.678524.jpg

Thanks for the chance! Picking a favorite is tough, but this #15 Farm Boy is definitely up there.
