First post. ID the Kami?

well I know that the 8 rayed sun is pang and jen , the lacchu sun is a rising sun with 6 rays almost like a single raj mountain , the old sher rising sun was fully rayed, and the keshar sun is a star of david

I am sad I missed the lacchu's with trident as I was just lamenting the fact i have no trisul or trident kami marks nor a single kesar 6 point star ! :C

I recently (August) got a chitlange with that mark (Full Sun), made by Rajkumar

Anytime! Just post the pics you want translated. I saw pics of your collection and boy does it look like the complete HI catalog!

You must be addressing gehazi? I have a HI pamphlet collection, a start of larger things to come, he's got the collector premium catalog collection.

whats so funny is that its mostly chitlangis, ang khola's and tool khukri , I fail to have the complete ~!!( and like 4 gelbu specials and sirus)

one guy posting the other day had like the first bamboo knife, meat cleaver and all kinds of other neat firsts , I do have enough to arm a private militia with khukuri though

Thank you Verpra and Phill.
It is nice to know what's written on the blades.
After your help I was able to match some letters to the alphabets which I saw online. Still one new letter or in a different handwriting and I'll be lost again.
Cool to have you experts here.

I can see you no longer as bloody useless. Now I'm all alone in the useless category.:( I gotta take some pictures of my Trisuli and have you see what it says too.

Great stuff.

Anytime! Please post a pic so that I can feast my eyes :)

Hi to everyone from this new member. I can read Devanagari so if you have a picture, I will be happy to translate.
Welcome verpa. Good to have you here! I have an old Khuk from Nepali Royal arsenal with Devanagari script and was wondering if you might know what the first two characters are. " ??/46 3|? Sri 3 Chandra". Its of early twentieth century. I have a thread in Cantina with another im trying to translate if you can help that would be great.

The first character looks like Ra + ai = Rai.. The second character is faded but looks like Jha (but can be Sa written in a really bad handwriting!)... The character in the middle is too faded to even guess :(...
I would say it reads left to right --> Rai Jha 4 6 ?? Sri 3 cha ndra

How does the police make numbers visible which had been filed off from guns? Do they etch the metal? Could it work here too?

IIRC you are correct Jens. Of course as soon as that came out the relatively successful violent criminals began peening the serial numbers out. Kinda hard to read letters and numbers in the etched metal equivalent of static snow.

So guess we identified the "kami mark". Thank you kindly Verpra for the translation. The rubbed out script i believe was filed off intentionally and re engraved. Reissued? This is a lot of good information for one blade:thumbup: Love that blade. Makes you want to use it but shes old and need to be taken care of:D
