I've always had knives-Swiss army, Boker (a pretty little penknife), a Scandinavian sheath knife (apparently not made for throwing at trees), a Spydie Delica work knife, an old Schrade that I busted the tip off of but still love-seems like a common theme here.

When I saw the ZT 0350 for $90 I thought I had to have one. And I would if it weren't for you guys. Not saying I won't get one, just didn't get one.

In googling around I kept hitting the "what about xxx knife" threads here, and some cream rose to the top.

You're thinking "he got a PM" aren't you?

I almost did. And I certainly will.

But what I did get (because I had a ZT fever that even more cowbell couldn't fix) was...make that were...the 0801 and the 0770. There were many good words spoken about these two, and now that I have gotten them I understand. The 0770 carries smaller than it is and the 0801 is just wow. And they fit me beautifully.

So to those of you who posted with your thoughts, and to those of you who posted size comparison pictures and shots in your hands, thank you! For a neophyte to the world of "better" knives I couldn't have done it without you. I've learned about quality tools, whisky, cars, boats, guns, bikes, and more. And those who don't know or care, don't know to care. But now I've dipped a toe, and the water sure feels fine.

And if it's not bad form, I'd also like to give props to forum vendor Perry Knife Works. I ordered the 0770 aluminum (which was on clearance) and when they couldn't track down the knife they offered me the CF version at the same price. Impressive customer service to say the least.

Thanks again,
Jim
