First "real" axe, Council.

Odd Ogg, did you buy it direct from Council or a reseller?

In any case, Council has great customer service. When you call them, there is a good chance you will speak directly with one of the very friendly Council family members.

I would just like to state for the record that had you given them the chance, they would have taken care of you. Obviously, requesting a replacement is your prerogative. I just wanted to throw out my $.02 worth in support of CT.

Hey M3, yeah I got it from a large supplier, and I know Council
has great customer service but it's really not worth my time to
go thru the hassle of sending it back. I'm sure I just got the
"Monday morn. hang over" axe or the "Friday afternoon and I
wanna go home" axe, it happens. The only problem is that
somebody should have glanced at it before they threw it in the box.
Not an end of the world kinda thing!
Council Tool is a great old American co. and I will continue to support them.

The problems that council has had is well documented. Great service starts with a great product or the customer will still be sore even if they do replace it.
It's like going to a restaurant and getting a bad meal, chances are most customers would not come back. I wouldn't.
