Oh wow! There it is. Something like that would cost several thousand dollars but is a one of a kind masterpiece. Something about his style, I think he might be a wizard or something.

They are sole authorship knives which means he made the damascus for the blade and the scales.

Here are a pair of Benchmades in the 'Gents style', top - a 482 Megumi in S30V and cocobolo and CF scales and a 480-1 Shoki in m390 and CF scales. Both are pb-operated liner locks - aka 'Nak-Lok'. The Shoki is obsolete now - but may still be around - a search may be required. The Me-Gumby is still available. Either should be <$200 shipped.

Both are keepers!

Stainz

I have both and they're very nice. Very small (2.5" and 2.9" blades) and no clip. Nak-Lok not to everyone's liking specially Axis lock fans.

Another one is the Spyderco Air by Gayle Bradley with a small 2.5" blade of CPM-M4 steel and titanium liners. No pocket clip but a surprisingly strong diminutive folder weighing a little over an ounce.

This would have my vote for your budget. So small it will fit in your Levis watch pocket, and very elegant.

This is what I think of when I read jaw dropping gentlemans folder:

The blade is made of a "W" pattern twist at 3" long. Bolsters are "W" ladder pattern with solid 14K gold screws and 24 K gold inlay. Handle scales are rainbow black lip mother of pearl with solid 14 K gold screws. The blade spine and spacer are also inlayed with 24K gold. the liners are anodized Titanium with vine file work.

$4000??

William Henry Spearpoint ‘Independence’ features a mesmerizing stainless steel frame, hand-engraved in Italy by the master artisans of Bottega Incisioni. The beautiful hand-forged blade is heat-blued carbon 'Flag' damascus steel; the one-hand button lock and the thumb stud are set with rubies.

A remarkable design that gives you an instrument with a full-size secure grip, and a versatile deep-belly blade, the Spearpoint epitomizes William Henry’s core philosophy – that superlative function deserves to be elevated to superlative art.

The ‘Independence’ features hand-forged metals, and hundreds of hours of microscopic hand-engraving which are the hallmark of William Henry's most exclusive creations; a timeless heirloom to be proudly worn and used for a lifetime before being handed-down to another generation.

Merica! I know where my too much money would go, I wouldn't be surprised if the Smith piece was well over 4k though.

Spyderco Caly 3 in carbon fiber. If you email me, i'll tell you where I got mine, it's the cheapest price i've seen.

Here is the most similar Smith I could find an it's under $4000.

I think the price has a lot to do with how intricate the inlays are because this is an $8000 Smith:

I see your $9000 WH and raise you a $27,000 Joe Kious

That would be cool to drive to work and show off to the buddies. Oh wait a minute, that's a knife... :D

I know it's all relative, but that $ for a knife is mind blowing.

OH man... take a look at the Northwoods Norfolk at www.knivesShipFree.com. I bought one a couple of weeks back and it is one of the most impressive pocket knives I've ever purchased. It's made by Great Eastern and just exudes quality.

Exactly. There are knives that cost as much as the average car just like there are cars that cost as much as the average house...
