First Sebenza!

Congo rats!

I'll still never own one. I'm too ... ah ... frugal.

Now if I hit the Powerball...

I too will chant “no spa!” I believe the Sebenza is like a fine wine that get better with age my friend!

Would love to see more of the user Sebenza’s out there on this thread!

Congratulations! I think you'll find that no matter what new "favorite" knives you buy in the future, the Sebenza will eventually end up back in your pocket.

The lock is TIGHT, takes a lot of pressure to disengage, more pressure than any blade I've ever used. I had a small bit of trouble lining up the bushings putting it back together, but, it's now cleaned, oiled, fluid, and ready to be sharpened. :)

By "tight" do you mean that the lock sticks? If so, try cleaning any oil from the lock face, then paint the lock face with a Sharpie. That should loosen it up.

I get why you want to send it to the spa.. So it makes it seem new, so you can finally call it yours but just like everyone else said. Don't send it. Just yet, get it to the point that you dont mind actually using it and then some.

Or just wait until you have a second or third one so you're not without it while it's gone because it will happen

Congratulations, it took me 26 years before I pulled the trigger for my first Sebenza and with the help of a friend I now have 4 representing all the essential variants minus the Inkosi the last iteration of the large Sebenza.

I currently have on the left the plain Janes. The Plain Jane 25 above my very first Sebenza, a Small Plain Jane 21. I think everyone should own at least one Sebenza in a lifetime. These 2 alone will insure that I'll always have a large and a small Sebenza to slide into my pockets without fear of using them. These are work knives, the word Sebenza means work in Zulu and they will always be considered work knives, not safe queens.

On the right side a Gabon Ebony Inlay Large 21 atop a Diamond Plate CGG that shares my Birthday . So I say congratulations sir, enjoy your knife and remember always, the day you had only 1 Sebenza for you'll never see that day again. ;)

Well, to anyone that does not yet have one...GET ONE, with one warning...it will ruin you for other knives. I picked up my PM2, and put it back down...right back to the Sebbie. I'm not sure I can pinpoint it's "perfection" or just that the sum is greater than that of the parts. It doesn't flick, which I thought I would always want, but I enjoy the buttery smoothness of it's opening more...it locks like a VAULT...I've never been less worried about disassembling, cleaning, etc.

In regards to lock stick...it appears my "Seb Thumb" may have just been BAD after so many openings. The next morning it was magically perfection as well.

I vowed I would NEVER spend over 100 bucks on a knife, but what a fine tool that I already trust more than any I've ever had. Thanks again friends!! Now on to an Umnumzaan ;) (Don't even know what makes it better, but I LOVE the scales, lol.)

E Ero2 , I guess now you'll have to find a way to start carrying two knives so you don't neglect the other great knives you have. :p

Do it!

And thanks for standing the watch.
Your welcome but, I really did not do anything great. It was all cold war. Nothing special.

As for the people in uniform nowadays, they are the real heroes. That's who you should thank.

Current used condition will just make it easier for you to use freely. Enjoy the Sebenza, you've got maybe the best production knife made. Use it, without hesitation.

I agree with this. Don’t make the mistake that I made and have a spa treatment done on it. Mine was too pretty to use after I sent it in. Bad mistake :p

I have owned many Sebenzas over the years and agree with the comments on this thread. Definitely don’t send it to the spa as those Ti scales get snail trails when you look at them wrong. Overall great knives. Congratulations and enjoy!

Congrats! Watch out though because they are addictive. One turns into two which turns into three.....
