I just signed up for my first show, the Gator Cutlery Club show in Lakeland, FL in February. For those of you who have done some shows, what is the minimum number of knives you would take to a three day show? Making up the cost of the table is not a big issue. The Gatror show started off as a collector show and has grownn to about 220 tables, but it is still dirt chep ($75 for all 3 days) when compared to other shows. I am wondering about how mny I will need to have enough to "look serious":D I forge and am rather slow, so I will eed to start getting ready long before the new year.

Hey Joe, congrats.Myself ,I like having 15-20 if possible, never less than 10.How was the FKA show, since I couldn't make it. Why didn't you setup there? Good luck my friend.Dave:)

I was a nice little show. I managed to pick up a few bits of 415 ss while I was there. There were some very nice knives there. Mr. Vogt had one of his ridiculously complex carved "works in progress" with him. That was a treat to see. With all of the traveling that I have been doing, I didn't have time to get a batch of knives together for FKA. I just got back from France last Sunday. I have 10 in varying stages of incompletion right now:eek: For a show like FKA, i figure I could get by with a minumum of 6 but the Gator show is 3 days, so 10 is probably the bare minimum. I figure I have to finish up at least one big honkin' bowie for the show if not two.

Joe, If you have 6 knives that should be plenty. I normally have a dozen or more but I've never found the perfect number.

I'm thinking 10. Two bowies, 4 hunters of various sizes and shapes, 2 fighters, a big camp/chopper and an oddball selection like a boot knife or maybe a small caper to go with the chopper.
