First skyline

Nope, it's just a skyline with the ducks unlimited logo etched on the blade like you see, very limited number made for the organization. Unfortunately I believe most of them went to non knife nuts because I have only ever seen one other one besides mine.

Careful they are addictive

Have another new model as well but gonna have to consider how to change the display when I get some time.

That.is.awesome.

Its a good little fixed blade. Slim and sharp. Blade stock is a little thicker than the folder but doesnt hinder cutting ability. The only thing im not too fond of is the sheath. i prefer kydex with a g-clip, but for what it is its not too bad. Jump on it if you're thinking about it.

Nice enough is an excellent way to put it. It has good retention but also pulls out with ease. My brother has one but the sheath for his was too tight. Whenever you pulled it out the sheath would want to come up with it. Probably hit or miss for the sheath, but the blade is solid and inexpensive.

Kydex for it is definitely on my want list.

They're discontinued, so your best bet would be on the exchange here. I've seen one or two pretty recently. Keep an eye on both the trade and for sale forums.

Here is a little custom job I did on my Skyline... Polished G10 and 2 sided acid etched blade with worn pocket clip with one lockwasher, thumb stud area has also been widened/deepened so you can actuate it easier,....

One side has speckled stripes.

One is Clean... well sort of...

and since its called a Skyline... LOL horrible pic...

God help you if the collecting bug really gets you. Here's my set (forgot to include my fixed blade models in the pic):

I just recently managed to score to elusive Ducks Unlimited and First Production :)

I've also put together some "Hybrids":

I'd love to see a Damascus Blade / Red Scale / Black Clip and Hardware model...

As far as the Ducks Unlimited model: I've not seen confirmation that these are Kerhsaw in-house blade markings. Ducks Unlimited was offering marking on various products for a while, and may have etched these themselves. Until I hear otherwise I'm considering it an official Kershaw variant (because I have one!). Any background on this model Thomas?

I have seen a couple oranges available im probably gonna get one and have only seen 1 blue available but missed out gonna keep looking for the blue i like the flat grind s30v. That is a seriously sweet collection BTW. I was thinkin of putting my black blade on the orange if (i really mean when ;) ) i get one

Nice, welcome to the club. There was a Facebook conversation where a KAI rep confirmed the existence of the ducks unlimited edition when someone asked about theirs. By any chance is that the guy you picked urs up from? If not you have the third one I have ever seen.

Brent -

Yes, I got my Ducks Unlimited from the guy in that Facebook thread. And your right, I forgot that someone at Kershaw did acknowledge the model.

I know Kershaw no longer shares the size of runs, but perhaps someone with Ducks Unlimited can tell us. I suspect the majority ended up with Ducks Unlimited members.

Did you score yours from that Armslist listing?

On another note, I'm planning on CNC milling some form-fitting pockets for displaying my Skyline collection. Not sure what material yet - Wood / Plastic, and I'm thinking hidden magnets to hold the knife in place.

Thoughts? Interested?

Ya the arms list was where I got mine. I would guess they all went to du members and that's why none are on the secondary market. Unless us knife nuts would think something like that could go way up in value. Interesting display idea I'd love to see how it turns out, make sure you leave room for future models as well :). My cell phone pics stink but my shadow boxes really do look good in person.
