First Snow of 2010

Bladtaco2, I work (remotely of course) with a lady in Stade Germany who told me today that the Salt/grit supply is critically short in ALL of Europe. Looks like lots of days off of work in the near future!

wiredge, hola

On the whole I suspect mainland Europe is much better prepared than the UK though. I think if I stood in the middle of the average high street and asked pedestrians “what is a snow chain” I'm sure I'd get a huge amount of bizarre answers before I got the right one. Coincidentally, my last woman was German. She had snow chains.

sicily02. I am with you, we have snow up to our ...., it will still be here in April and I am sick of it already. Besides that, we are going to hit -30 tonight and probably tomorrow night. - 50 chill right now.

I am ready to sign this state back over to Norway.:D UFFDA!!

Man, you guys must hate all of us out here where it's bright, sunny, and 72 degrees F.

Very cool Bald taco!

Nice pics Mist, enjoy that lil bit a snow and be thankful you don't get this.

Ah ha! A point well taken. Part of the year you get green like we're never going to see out here (can you feel the envy?).

Hmmmm, could be envy...could be sarcasm...depends on how you you know about how much pollen exists here in the spring time :)

Nice pics Mist, enjoy that lil bit a snow and be thankful you don't get this.

Thanks man, I'm ALWAYS glad we don't get that! We did get 23 inches back in the "blizzard of 93"

Nice pics

Thanks man

Awesome pictures! If your red ranger a 4x4?

Thanks man, glad you liked them!

Yep, around here it pays to have 4x4 with my job and my hobbies

The roads got a little slick last night. These are a couple of shots of the bottom of my driveway before I went to bed last night and shortly after I got up this morning. Living on a back road at the far edge of the city limits has a lot of advantages but some disadvantages too.

Not at all. I could never be happy living where there's no winter. The absolute worst place you could banish me to would be a tropical island. :)

It looks like that's a popular corner. Nice pics in the OP, you live in a great looking area.

I like to visit the trpics but really don't think I want to leave there...I'd really miss Autumn.

Yeah, it's a popular curve when the roads ice.

Thanks, I really like it here.

While I've spent time in the snow, and visited the East coast (Maine) during a blizzard, I've never had to spend an entire winter in a place that snowed like that. I've never had to shovel snow off of a driveway or sidewalk in my life ... and I have no desire to start.:D

It's all what you're used to, I suppose. I don't miss the seasons at all, because I've never had them. I love everyone's pictures of various areas at various times of the year, but I'm not sure how I would handle living in those areas.

The most snow I ever had to deal with was going through winter warfare school at Pickle Meadows, and I knew that was going to end in three weeks. A whole winter? The heck, you say!

I really like that first pic!!!!!!! How fast where they going around that curve??
