Hey Guys,

I've heard a lot about Spyderco but I've never owned one. I decided the other day that my next EDC was going to be a Spyderco. I've done some research and I think I am leaning towards the Endura4 G10.

Does anyone have any particular recommendations? As I said, it will be an EDC blade. I prefer something not gigantic, but I want something solid. I like the look of G10 but am open to other suggestions.

Thoughts?

You might want to try the new Manix 2 or the Paramilitary. The D2 paramilitary has fg g-10 scales just like the G10 endura.

If you want to go a cheaper route, you might want to try the Tenacious or the FRN Endura.

What do you think about the Spyderco khukuri? I just watched a couple vids and I think it's a beautiful knife.

I have no experience w/ the Khukri, but I have heard positive reports.

imo, the Barong looks like 10x better :)

Yeah, Spyderco offers so many awesome knives.

You also might want to take a look at the Caly3, everybody seems to love it for EDC. I have a UKPK myself, and the ergos are just phenomenal.

Caly3 is definitely a good choice. Para Military is also a really good knife and is the little brother of the infamous Military Model. Definitely a hard choice for you to make.

Also if price isnt a big deal you may want to look at the Stretch2 Carbon Fiber which can be bought for around $200. They also released the Stretch 2 in Black FRN with VG10 Steel which is about $80.

I'm leaning towards the Caly3 now, that was one of my initial thoughts. I did see the Stretch2 Carbon Fiber....and damn is that a gorgeous knife. I don't know if I want to go that high though.

My second Spyderco was an old Endura I can't think of a better first then a Delica or Endura and G-10 will be a little extra icing on the Spydie cake!

Do a native...youll want one eventually no matter what and its great for edc. plus, for not much money you get a great steel, s30v. trust me you'll like it.

Depends on what EDC means to you. I wear dress clothes at work, Tie and all, and the CF Caly 3 is what's in my back pocket. Discreet due to the wire low ride clip and small enough not to garner attention. I feel very comfortable that it will do 95% of what I might need a knife for in those circumstances.

On the weekends anything goes, and I'll grab whatever I feel might be in order. If it's not a higher end custom, I might grab a G-10 Endura heading to the store or an FRN model to do some fishing. Might be a Stretch, CF or FRN, if I might need to slice up some cheese and sausage for a snack while visiting friends. G-10 or FRN delica for around the house, Salt 1 for mowing the yard of in the garden. Etc.

Lot's of good choices out there, and I probably haven't helped your decision much. That's why you really need one or two of each.

What tasks do you use your EDC for?

Some knives to look at: Tenacious, Paramilitary, Military, Manix 2, Caly3 (VG-10 / ZDP-189+CF), UKPK, Endura, Pacific Salt.

You can't go wrong with a Spyderco. :)

here's my Caly 3 (good choice:thumbup:) clipped to my Wrangler jeans:

All the spydies are great. You can't go wrong with any of them, so just pick the one that appeals to you the most :)
