First Spyderco Purchase:Sage I or Delica 4?

The Sage is almost double the knife as the Delica and although some say the Endura/Delica tandem defines Spyderco, if the Sage 1 was in the same league as the Delica, then I would also think the Delica would cost more, MSRP or street.

My choice would be the Sage 1 hands down :)

i'm new to bladeforums but not forums in general, i know the rules :D should be here next week and i'll post some pics of it with my guns.
 
+1 for the Sage - you'll enjoy your purchase, JB. I've been using Spydies for over 20 years, and IMHO the Sage has the finest ergonomics of any knife I've ever used. It just feels natural in your hand. Plus...it is a really good slicer...

Great choice. You really cant go wrong with either choice so its a win win situation. I suggest you get a D4 ffg as well.
 
man, all these positive comments about the sage... you are all making this wait for it to get here unbearable. if i'm as pleased with the sage as much as you all say i will be, i may sell one of my NIB TR3's and pick up a para2 when I find one in stock. the para2 is probably my favorite looking spyderco, and also gets great reviews from what i've been reading.
 
I just got my Sage 1 today .. under $80 shipped - after finally having it in my hands, now I wish I'd ordered 2 of them.

I've carried a Gen 1 C10 Endura G2 Spyderedge since 1991.
I've loved this knife since the moment I laid eyes on it.

Today the Sage went into my back pocket ... nuff said ;)
