I have been looking at spyderco knives for a while, my father had a delica salt that i liked, so i have finally gave in and i'm going to buy one. However i don't know which one to get. Any suggestions? just as an EDC knife and i got $100 to spend.

The Delica 4 with plain edge would be about as good as you could get for a first Spydie, IMO. And then keep that remaining $50 for your next one.

But this is very subjective. There are about 10 other top contenders, including the Endura 4 and Stretch 2.

The S30V Para 2 is not much more than your $100 mark, and is a TERRIFIC knife  You just have to be patient a little to get one.

my first spyderco was the endura 4 with g10 and plain edge, i love that knife, plus you wont spend you 100 limit either, could put it towards another one

I'd recommend the flat ground Delica or Endura. The Delica has a thinner blade and tip. Both have good ergos and carry well.

There are quite a few Spydercos better (and much more expensive) than Delica, but IMHO anybody who want to know what is Spyderco about have to try Delica or Endura, if you need bigger knife. FFG makes it much better slicer. just choose the color.

Another vote for the Delica. I like the flat ground best also. Just don't loan it to someone who uses knives as screwdrivers or prybars. The flat ground is a slicing fool but will break if misused.

Cal3 G10/VG10

Got a lot of soul that knife :)

(mind you so have most of the others mentioned, and you'll not go miles off track with any of them)

I only have one spyderco and its a Sage I. I absolutely love it. Lightweight, egronomic, S30V and its classy.

My first Spyderco was a Spyderfly in VG-10, but's that's probably not the way your wanting to go. :D

This may put you a little over you $100 budget but I would suggest Centofante 3 and a Delica. Both are great lite weight EDCs.

It's kinda like asking which donut should I try first at Dunkin Donuts? So many flavors to choose from. I wouldn't even try to advise you on what to get first. But, based on my own recent experience, I will predict you'll buy another very soon... and then another... and another. I started with a Caly 3 just last May. Then an Endura 4 within days. As of now (I've actually lost count and am not home right at the moment), I'm up to nearly 20 Spydies. :) And, it's hard for me to pick a favorite. But, my favorite will be different than yours. I will say I really like my Sage 1, Sage 2, and Manix 2. Just got a couple of really cool Millies but haven't carried them yet.
