First Spyderco

The guys have already named off a lot of good choices for a first Spydie that's within your price range, and it'll probably come down to what you need in a folder. I'd also suggest a full-flat ground Delica if you want to test the Spyderco waters, but if you are willing to save up, you could also get a Military - it's probably one of the top five favorite models in the Spyderco lineup.

Caly 3 is indeed a lovely one, a perfect EDC, but it will be hard to find it below $100.
My recommendation is the "basic" VG-10 blade / FRN handle version of the Stretch. The bit extra reach over the Delica makes it more universal in my opinion: and it is ergonomically more refined than the similarly sized Endura.
If you think you'll do a lot of heavy work, then definitely check out the Manix 2 as well.

Flat ground Delica and a Sharpmaker if you don't already have a good sharpener. FFG Delica is a fantastic slicer and wonderfully light for a 2.9" bladed folder. VG-10 is excellent steel, too.

I have been looking at spyderco knives for a while, my father had a delica salt that i liked, so i have finally gave in and i'm going to buy one. However i don't know which one to get. Any suggestions? just as an EDC knife and i got $100 to spend.

Can I get some feedback on the Native FRN? I really like the looks of it.. Thanks

Take a look at their website and see what appeals to you off the bat. They are all good solid knives. In my opinion the Delica is the heart of the spyderco line, being a lockback, vg-10, with FRN handles over steel liners, with the big ole opening hole :D

But the Caly is also one worth looking at as the choil is quite an interesting feature.

And the Native should never be over looked, as if I remember right its the one that started the idea of spydercos being "designed in the dark" aka very good ergonomics but pretty funky looking.

Again you really can't go wrong with any of them, but if you have the cash to spend, I'd suggest staying away from the tenacious line, as the lower end steel can leave a bad taste in the mouth for some people.
My order of purchase went like this:
Tenacious (they had just come out, and my ex g/f surprised me with it)
Delica 4 ZDP189 ( I love british racing green...)
Ladybug Salt (To try out H1 steel)
Tasman Salt (PFD knife)
Another Delica 4, this one all black and combo edge I found on ebay for CHEAP

I've tried most of the offerings, good luck deciding, its not easy lol

Paramilitary 2 if you can find one eventually
Manix 2 now
Delica or Endura (currently being offered full flat grind in your choice of colors)

The size you want dictates which of these you choose, but if you shopped wisely in the Exchange you might be able to pick up both a Manix 2 and a Delica for $100.
