First Spyderco?

The only real problem I've had with Spyderco folders is the ache in your heart when the TSA thug pulls your Herbst Aluminum (yup, discontinued) out of your wife's makeup bag and says, "You can't have this." and throws it in the trash can.

BTW, Mid-lockbacks like Spyderco uses are extremely easy to close one-handed. This video shows the 2 methods for doing so--http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbmLhzeIwiI

The first method where you flip the blade forward is the easiest and quickest, and is also safe because Spyderco puts a finger choil or unsharpened tang at the end of almost every knife, which acts as a stop point, so as long as your finger's there, you will not get cut.

I still STRONGLY recommend you check out the Stretch 2. It is an incredible knife--even though I own many $150+ knives, I often find myself carrying my $70 Stretch, and it works just as well. You will not be disappointed, I guarantee it. The action is smooth, the grip comfort is the best in existence IMO, the blade is a great shape for piercing, slicing or skinning, and is full-flat ground, making it an awesome cutter and slicer. The Manix 2 is a great knife, but if I had to choose between it and the Stretch 2, it would be a no-brainer. PS-Also the Stetch has a good-sized edge, enough for any task IMO besides chopping wood :D (good for Self-defense, food prep, general EDC tasks like cardboard cutting, rope cutting etc)
