Decided to post this here to show everyone my first sub hilt, as I'm not sure if I will be posting this for sale here on BF. Theres a few things I would have done differently but overall I'm pretty happy with it.

Comments & especially critiques welcome.

Edit: Just realized this would be better fit for "Hammer & Tongs". Its been awhile.

1/4" W2
9" Blade
13" OAL

Looks great.

Is it the angles on the edges/corner of the subhilt you would change?

Has a lot to do with it. I also should have used the same 3/8 416 for the sub hilt. As I used 1/4" that I had, making it a lot more difficult to transition it smoothly.

Darn - you did GOOD on that Bowie! I think perhaps you should not sell that, but hang in a place of honor on your wall. That's a keeper for sure.

That came out good.

My critique would be that the handle is just a bit too large and fat. The sides might be rounded a bit more, too.

Thanks guys. I was going to add a little swell along with thinning it all out, but being my first hidden tang with this thick of steel, I was afraid of blowing through the tang hole. Which I am very good at :)

Looks good, I wouldn't worry about thinking the handle down, it'd fit my large hands well. I know exactly what you mean about blowing through the tang hole.
