First "survival" knife

I can tell you for certain from a SAR perspective many of us are packing large steel. Ranging from machettes on down and nobody in law enforcement says boo as they might have to get dirty themselves.

MY first 25 years ago (still use and own it) USAF issue survival knife still ticking but too small for back 40 SAR work.

The first bush/survival knife was a carbon steel bolo machete without a handle.I wrapped it in spandex and shoelace.I still have the sheath that my dads friend made for me.The knife is long gone.for almost 5 years that knife was my constant companion.
