First Time Busse Owner - LE HOFSH

I have a Kifaru Pointman as my 3 day B.O.B. and a Camel back Motherlode as my 1 day hiker/mobile B.O.B. In the first I keep the HOFSHLE, the second carries the Rat Daddy. Both bags always carry my survival supplies, MRE's, rope, fire starter, etc.....ad nauseum.

Thanks for the info on the patches, I'm getting a type and cross on my blood and allergy info put on both bags.

What knife is next for you?

ERdept,

I have Camelbak motherload as well. I think, both Camelbak and Kifaru are built like tanks, they will take almost anything... I also have a Kifaru Navigator I take with me on extended off-the-grid trip. But my favorite all around pack is their Scout, it's always piggybacked to something. It's really a fusion between backpack and buttpack. I like it because it keeps my back mostly ventilated. In a rain forest environment like mine, that is one feature most welcome...

Here is a pic of the Kifaru Scout:

I haven't decided what knife to get next, but it will definitely be a Busse... decision...decision... :)

You certainly didn't screw up anything by putting Eezox on it. The handles will darken a bit with oil, but a good scrubbing with dish soap or degreaser will make them look brand new again. Don't worry about oiling the blade too much, it probably won't need it at all. Infi is very stain resistant even though it isn't a stainless steel. The only time I'd bother with oil is if it's gonna be used near saltwater alot, or stored for long periods of time without maintenence(just as a precaution). Otherwise just keep the blade fairly dry and it's all good.

Get somethig smaller to accompany the HOFSH, maybe a Leaner, a Meaner, or Active Duty.

Sweet pics, nice kit.

Welcome to the forums. You've made a heck of an entrance, that's for sure....

yoda4561: Thanks for your info. Glad I did not screw up. It's very humid here so I took the precaution. I was a bit concern when the handle change color....

Walking Man: You're right. It's an Ovation...

thatmguy: Thank you for your input. I am in the same line of thinking...a smaller knife...

A MS to match it would be a nice fit. Hey what do you know... the company store just so happens to have a Meaner Street with a satin finish and snakeskin handles.... ohhhhhh very nice! :D

Stay Strong & No Regrets!
