OK so this is the first time attempting to purchase an a knife off of this site I told the seller I would take the knife and have posted numerous messages asking him to send me the PayPal information so I can get the Payment to him I haven’t heard anything back I did however hear from another member we both were confused about it he thought I was the seller I thought he was the Seller so I sent him the payment thankfully he’s a standup guy and informed me that we had made a mistake and that he would refund me that money right away to which he actually did amazingly I will say this guy is truly one of the last stand Up guys around That I know of but does anybody know how I can send this guy the money he has great feedback and everything but I haven’t been able to hear anything back from him and

By the Way I was just like everyone to know who this awesome person was that I sent money to and they could’ve kept it but instead return it to me right away
So I think he deserves a proper thank you and recognition to whoever reads this knowing if they ever run into him that he is a great person and I would deal with him anytime
I’m not sure if this is his name on this site but I know I’m as—- Jday2475 —-

So to you sir I tip my hat and say thank you

If the seller hasn't responded...well there's not much that can be done, unfortunately. The most you can really do is to post an "I'll buy the knife" in the thread and send the seller another email. You can name the seller and perhaps someone who's in contact with them can help.

Every seller sets his own rules. Some require 'I'll take it' to be posted in the thread. Some want responses to be sent to their email or PM accounts. Read through a few threads where sellers are offering knives for sale, and learn how successful sales happen here.

If you're a buyer you need to make it easy on the seller. If you don't have PM privileges here you have to give the seller some way of contacting you. Many buyers post their email addresses in their 'I'll take it' post, then remove it later. Upgrading your membership to Blue level gives you a limited pm privilege here. Gold opens a lot of doors. If you're planning on buying here, consider upgrading your membership.

I looked at that thread, the seller didn't respond at all, and he didn't set any rules. It's hard to say what went wrong there. You can't make a seller do what you want him to do.

Some sellers are shy about selling to someone who has a limited number of posts or no feedback score. I'm new here myself, but have had no trouble buying a bunch of knives. These guys do want to sell, you'll just have to figure out how to make that happen.

And, please, punctuate occasionally.

thank you for the information I had no idea it could be that complicated. I completely understand the unwillingness to sell to anyone that seems like they are new or that there is mot that much info about. as I'm sure you saw I did include my email in the thread. also I sent the payment once already to the wrong person lol. we both thought each other were the seller. thankfully he was a very good person and sent the money back before I even realized what happened. I'm sure that it could gone about 100 different ways that would not have been good for me. anyway I appreciate the feedback I am starting to see how this all works now. I will have to upgrade my membership for one. that would be a start. also how do I find his e,mail to send him a message direct? is that erven possible? I really don't want to annoy or get this person mad I really would love to get the knife.

I'm sorry about ,my punctuation. I will make sure I fix that. I literally read that part as I hit send on the last post. sorry again..

thank you...

I don't think there's a way to find a member's email address if he limits who can see his profile page. The only thing I can think of would be to play some search games with the member's screen name and see if he's posted his email address somewhere. Others may have a better method.

If you have PM privileges it's just a matter of clicking on the member's avatar. A little screen will pop up giving you the option of sending him a message.

It's not that hard, you'll figure it out. This forum has a pretty lively exchange forum, it's worth the effort.

..The name on the account who's selling the knife is OTF-MAN . If anyone knows this seller and could let him or her know I would like to complete the sale of the Benchmade mono lock 765, I would greatly appreciate it. Of course I will send payment right away before he or she ever has to send anything. thank you to everyone for you help. I am very thankful for all of your suggestions!

ok, I think I am just going to upgrade my account and start there. I think if I can PM in the first place that would be my best bet. at least I hope so haha.

OTF-MAN is a regular on BF. I suspect that he just hasn't checked his thread in a while. I sent him a PM about your response. Hopefully he'll get back to you soon.

Oh yeah, he's a standup guy, no doubt about it. Sometimes things happen... the dog barfs on the new sofa, the water heater turns into a decorative fountain, whatever. Thoughts of knives just fly out of your head.

@ OP
Also, yesterday was Sunday for most people on BF. Not everyone is online 24/7 and some people make it a purpose to disconnect for a day or two sometimes. So, a bit of patience goes a long way...

Welcome and cheers!
