Recommendation? First time EDC

I have several knives and just picked up a Spyderco Delica a couple of weeks ago. I love the Delica. I think it is a very good value. It’s lightweight, right sized for most daily tasks and pretty sharp. Up until I acquired the Delica, my Spyderco knives consisted of a PM 2 and a Native III. I’ve carried the PM2 and the Native but not to the extent of the Delica.

Again, thank you to everyone who posted. I'm not in a rush to get my first EDC so I plan on watching the Exchange thread to see if I can get a used one. I almost thought of getting a Mini Bugout for $100 but hesitated.

When I first started to look, I came accross the Mini Osborne, I'm a sucker for black and anodized blue but the $175 price is a tad steep but who knows.

Ferrum Forge Stinger would be another great one to check out in addition to the Gent.

Any of the knives so far recommended will make a quite decent EDC blade. I'm going to assume, since this is your first foray into knifedom, that a true heavy-duty working tool is not a necessity for your job, and you're really just looking for a cool, functional toy. The Civivi is a good place to start. It may turn out to be all you ever need, and that's cool, some people are like that. I am, with some things.

You asked if you would notice a difference between the brass handle and the carbon fiber G10 handle. Yes, you'll notice the weight difference. Mostly in the pocket, once in hand that issue goes away, for the most part. Given the same steels, the cutting difference should be zero. Get the one YOU want.

Hello, name is Jeremy and I've been lurking for a week or so and I am ready to purchase my first knife. With reading forum posts here and watching YouTube video reviews, to say I'm overwhelmed would be an understatement.

I recent bought my 16 year old son a Civivi Ortis and now I need one.

I would like to keep the out-the-door price to under $100. I originally wanted to get the Ferrum Forge Stinger but it is not in stock anywhere.

So that leaves the Civivi Elementum. The brass one looks nice but is bit heavier than that of the marble carbon fiber version. As a first time EDC and knife user would I notice the difference?

I'm also open to other sub-$100 knife recommendations.

Thanks for reading and clicking here,

Jeremy
Looking for a new EDC auto pocket knife. I had a Kershaw Launch 1 that I’ve been carrying for about two years, but I lost it earlier this week. Any other auto knives worth looking at? I have a buck 110 auto, but it’s too big to carry all the time.

Here is a knife I bought for a friend that didn't want to spend a bunch of money but wanted a decent EDC knife. It is not automatic but very easy to open. It is the large black FRN scales Spyderco Resilience with a nice 8CR13mov steel blade. You can find them for around $50. There is an upgraded version of the Resilience with Blue FRN scales and a S35VN steel blade that runs about $120 if you really looking for little higher quality knife.

$115 would get you a brand new Spyderco Para 3 lightweight... US-made, easy to carry, proven quality and design

The OP hasn't been online for over 2 years, so I would save your recommendations for someone who still cares. :)
