I got a big batch of tapered roller bearings for free a while back. I welded handles onto some, then tried to draw one out by hand. These are about 2" round 52100. I hammered until I was about ready to puke, then gave up after barely squaring the thing. Maybe 12 heats? Anyway, I got smart and took them to my friend's shop and ran them through the 50# LG there. There were some hammer tuning issues, but once we got it hitting hard boy it moved the steel. I have to get one. :)

They are additive aren't they. I have a friend and her dad made his living as a blacksmith. She was a half a block away when I fired mine up and she knew the sound right away.

I know running one always puts a smile on my face.
