I have got to say, I am quite impressed with Kershaw!

Ever since I asked for opinions on a decent folder to get as a gift for my buddy, people would constantly mention the Kershaw Leek
Got one in composite blade, and as soon as I got it, I was seriously thinking of just keeping it!

Finally got around to getting myself a Shallot, and all I can say is WOW!
Excellent fit, finish, and aesthetics! Beautiful, and functional!

Just because I wanted to tinker a bit, I decided to make my Shallot completely metal, and remove the plastic (G-10?) back spacer and replace them with metal standoffs
Now my Shallot is 100% metal, and I think it adds a bit of flair to the overall look

In any case, what I'm really getting at is that Kershaw has blown me away, and I think I'm hooked for life!
I'm eyeing a ZT 0400 right now for my next knife purchase, just to be different from the crowd
:)

Glad you're happy with your first Kershaw. Welcome to the family.

Thanks!
I don't think I've ever been so excited to get a knife, or so quick to look for more from the same company!

My Cold Steel Spartan is nice and all, and most certainly has its place, but the Shallot has become my new favorite (for now)!

Congrats! No doubt it won't be your last. You should also take a look at the Skyline and Blur. Both of them are awesome knives. I've gone through LOTS of Kershaws and they're still towards the top of my list.

I have been looking at both of those!

Not sure if I should save up for a ZT 0400 first though...
Oh the choices!

The Kershaw Leek in G10/s30v was my first higher end knife. I hadn't EDC'd a knife ever, but now thanks to that little knife I have for a few years. It showed me what quality in a knife was all about. I'm sure now that you've had a taste of Kershaw you'll be back for quite a few more.

That right there won't be good for your wallet, but will be great for your overall happiness! :D

Indeed, but I think it will be worth it overall as long as I still have money to eat!
:D

For the longest time, I EDC'd my Spartan, and now with the Shallot in my pocket, it's like it's not even there!
Very thin, very light, and very nice looking! I'll be back for more Kershaw and ZT products for sure!
