Until I came upon this site, Moras were new to me. I have searched as much as I could on them, and it seems they are what im looking for.

I have 3 different packs to outfit. My 3-day pack, my GHB that I keep in my truck, and my other pack, which use has yet to be determined.
I have a RAT 7 in 2 of my packs, so my big blade is covered. A decent small folder for all 3.
Id like to have a Mora for each pack, as my 3rd blade, but im unsure as to which one. There are sooo many. Everyone has a different one. I am looking for a general, all purpose design. I really like the looks of the models with the plastic handles.

So, which Mora do I buy 3 of for my packs?

Stainless or carbon?? My fav is the #510 in carbon ( long tang) followed by both the carbon and stainless clipper (short tang) but if you're using them for cutting they are more than adequate...

Clippers are my fav cause the handle has a rubber grip and the sheath can just be clipped to your pocket or belt. Clippers also come in alot of diffrent handle colors/steel options green/stainless and green/carbon then blue/stainless and red/carbon and orange/stainless with an orange sheath and the orange/stainless with partially serrated blade.

I'm partial to the 2000 (12c27mod stainless), but like the 711 (carbon) and the 760 (12c27 stainless) as well.

I have never seen a Mora except on the internet. None of the stores here have them. I hate to order stuff.

I like the Mora Clippers from Sportsmans Guide. They are carbon and $9.95. They call them the military or army Mora, but it is the Clipper. Mine rides attached to shoulder bag that contains a small fishing kit. I have lightly blued the blade to quickly add a patina.

I have bought the wooden handles Mora's, and well they are OK, wicked sharp, I just don't like the handles and the sheaths are horrible. They fit poorly do not secure the knife. The Clipper sheath may not win a beauty contest but it works.

I bought the SL1 and 1260 from Ragweed. I am making a sheath for the SL1. Ragnar offers a leather sheath for this knife, I should have bought it. I have also stained and oiled the handles to dress them up. The 1260 is a workbench

Apologies if this produces thread drift but I was considering a similar question as the OP.

What is the difference in corrosion resistance between the Triflex steel and stainless. I will probably get one carbon blade because I love carbon, but want something for a more agressive environment such as salt water. I'm drawn to the qualities of the tri-flex semi-laminate but wonder if it as stain resistant as the regular stainless variety.

I'm partial to the Clipper too. I have the 510 and 840 Clipper in carbon, and the Clipper feels better in-hand. The stainless 946 is nice with a beefy handle as are the 740, 760 and 780 Craftsman knives. I can't comment on the Mora 2000 becaue I don;t own one yet, and probably won;t ever at $30 a pop.

The Clipper works great I think. I bought four of them once. My buddy took one to Iraq with him.

510...... or if you want a better finger guard, go with the 780 tri flex. I have used most of them, and all will serve you well. I prefer the carbon steel, but I stash a stainless version of the 510 (can't remember the # right now) in my truck PSK. The 12C27 is good steel and well tempered.

510 without a doubt and ragweedforge for good price and great service. if you really want stainless they make the 510 pattern in a SS but i can't remember the number, it has a blue handle. great knives

The stainless model is a 545.

i have to agree about the 510. slim, comfy, good blade, and it has the best sheath. if you feel like spending $30 for kydex to fit a $10 knife, i like the 760.

I have the clipper which is really rugged, I would suggest that or the #510 if you really want to beat the piss out of the handle.

I'm also ordering one of the classic wood handle ones(#137) for my bushcraft duties. I'm going to finish the handle myself with some nice stain and poly. I'm a sucker for wood handles and leather sheaths - I just love that classic look.

Any one will do really, but that #510 looks great.

I have some of them all, laminated, carbon, triflex and stainless, I could be wrong, but the triflex is just carbon steel thats differentially heat treated, not laminated. I carry a 780 (triflex) the most and it seems to rust as easily as their standard carbon. Good steel though.
