Very cool. Can I come next time?
Thanks for sharing it looks like a great time.

Right on bro! That looks like a great time! I want to do some ocean fishing some time! What was the strongest fighting fish...the striper or the bluefish? Thanks for the pics!

well we never caught a single fish at once it was always two or three at a time, i think the three blues were the strongest

Excellent pics, sounds like a perfect day. Striper is 1 of my favorite eating fish!

Striper pound for pound will fight harder then a blue in my experiance. But the blues are more aggressive and feistier when first hooked. But if you caught those three blues at the same time, that would be fun!

What did you catch the striper and the blues on?

Nicely done! I love to fish along the CT coastline. We will need to meet up sometime.

we got the stripers and blues on umbrella baits. the porgy was caught with either squid or clam. we also caught some small sea bass and fluke but non were keepers. we cooked the blues with "rosemary-grilled bluefish with rosemary-lime butter" and the striper with a breaded struper with pepper and tabasco recipe

Great pics. Those striper are FUN to catch! Nice meals you've got there.

NICE!

I only got to go fishing once this year and only caught one stinkin' sea bass. Stripers sure are tasty - possibly the most versatile fish out there. However you cook 'em, make sure you add garlic - makes the flavor pop! My personal favorite way to prepare them is livornese (tomatoes onions capers).

Porgies are tasty too. I agree with tonym that pound for pound, stripers are harder fighters than blues, but I'd have to say, pound for pound, porgies are the hardest fighters of all -really fun to catch.

Blues, well, they can be an acquired taste. I like parboiling them in VERY salty water for about 2 minutes, dumping out the water, and then doing it again before cooking to get the gaminess out.

It is a great time to be on the water this time of year. I have to agree pound for pound Porgy's fight like mad. Tenacious little fish and if you get them going with a chum slick it is non stop action. Looks like you had a great day on the water with your family.

Yeah they are oily bastids. I throw back the big ones and keep the smaller ones, as they are less oily. I think blues taste better on the grill.
