First time poster needs recommendations for new folder

So far the best 940 I've found is someone on eBay selling a blade from a 940-1 that's been put on the handle from a 943. It's exactly what I'm looking for. I also like the full 940-1, with the CF handle, but that's a lot more expensive, and I actually like the black aluminum handle better. How hard is it to re-anodize a handle to a different color?

You cannot "re-anodize" to a lighter color, you can only go darker.

Well ... you could probably buff/sand/grind off the existing color and restart from scratch.

That's what I've been seeing. There are apparently a few compounds that can remove anodization from aluminum. Although I'd want to anodize it to black, so maybe just re-dying it would be enough...

There is a "Benchmade HK Knives Osborne Design Axis Clip-Point Knife" on Amazon for $155. It's Stealth Ninja Black.

And for same price and Prime shipping a "Benchmade Mchenry and Williams Design Knife" 710

Right, that Osborne on Amazon is the 943. I like the color, but I don't like the clip point blade. I prefer the modified reverse tanto on the 940 and the 940-1.

Oh! Actually, it looks like the 942 is exactly what I'm looking for. It's discontinued, but I'm still seeing some places selling it.

While you are on Amazon check out the Spyderco Gayle Bradley. Some great YouTubes are also out there about this awesome M4 Steel, carbon fiber blade.
