And the first time I catch myself talking sweet to a knife. I used pcb from radio shack diluted 4 parts water to 1 solution. I dipped it in the solution feeling very skeptical in myself. Thinking I am going to screw this up. So I leave it for 10 minutes and come back to check it out. I pull it out of the solution and I said "oh yea baby your gonna look good":o I am glad my wife didn't hear me. She might of though I was on the phone with someone else. Anyways. I still need to etch it a bit more tonight. Whatcha think any advice. This is some Dan Seaver Raindrop damascus btw.

Edit, this was ht"d by Delbert Ealy.

I usually etch mine about ten to fifteen min. and use a parallel to shine the nickel to 1500 grit. Then go back one last time for a quick 10 sec. dip in the ferric then final polish. The quick dip helps reblacken the 1084 that got washed out.

The knife looks great, and no your not alone, I find myself talking to myself and saying OH YEAH THATS FREAKIN COOL when I etch a pattern for the first time. I love damascus.

Good looking knife Frank! What are you going to be using for handle material?

Wait until you get to play with my new stuff, makes that bar's pattern look like junk yard material.

Dan, I am going to use Iron wood for the handles. Can't wait for the new stuff!

Frank,
Glad to hear your working on thse blades. I read your first post and laughed and then read it to my wife and she laughed.
