Well this all started as an endeavor to find a good EDC knife that was fixed blade and mostly multi purpose. I have always had a love for blades. I knew the custom market was a bit out of my price range, and couldn't seem to find what I wanted so I decided I was gonna make one. I've always wanted to try it and I thought this was a good opportunity.

I bought 18" of 3/16" O-1 tool steel and have your average "tinker" tools on hand....(I like to tinker)
Files, bench grinder, angle grinder, hand drill........I know i'll need some of the more specific "knife tools" but for my first one I think this will do don't you guys?

I just wanted to know I have the right idea. design it, file it, heat treat it....then a handle and a sheath......right? I have been reading here so much I'm dizzy......I know there are many specifics so I just wanted to stop in and say hello before I got started.

Go to You Tube and type in "Nick Wheeler" and "Aaron Gough" then watch their vids. Good stuff as you can see from the link Uhurungus shared. Click on their name then click on videos. Watch all of the knife related stuff.
