Here are some pictures of my first tomahawk. The steel is W1, the wood is hickory. The head started out as 1 inch square bar. Comments and critique welcome, you guys for sure know hawk's so I would like some input from those who know a bit more about them than I do.

Looks kind of like a cold steel trail hawk, very cool! What made you want to make a hawk?

Wow, I really like that head shape. I might have tried to make the eye a little wider/larger so that the haft can be dropped through the top (in traditional tomahawk fashion), but I like the overall shape. Can you post a pic of the poll? Is it rounded?

Thanks guys!

T Block, I had been wanting to make oen for a few weeks, hehe I guess I took the modern marvels episode happening to come on at about 12N on a gorgeous Saturday as an omen to go out and make one.

Nicely done.
could we get more pics of the eye and the poll?

The handle looks good, I like the swell about 3/4's down. A good place to choke up for detail work.

Looks good! I particularly like the curve of the blade, I believe its called the beard? Anyway, nice job!
