well, my very first attempt proved to be a big failure. i am thinking that i didn't twist it tight enough. i had many little sections that didn't weld up. the second try came out a lot better, and i think it may be a keeper. need to finish up the bevels. am going to keep it simple, and just use the round section at the rear for the handle. took about an hour or so for this one so far.

lookin good so far, wait till you etch it! the snakeskin pattern will really come out. Id go a head and forge out the tang though (flatten it) wouldnt take that long to do. also if your worried about it coming apart dont, just dont take it back to yellow and you wont have anything to worry about.

yea what scott said, either or, Also you can clean up your grind lines by useing a file guide. or better yet reforge them in. I've always wanted to do a cable damascus drop point recurve with stag slabs kind of ala' Dave Kelly. by far one of the most talented handle guys in my opinion. do a blade forums google search on him and be amazed! anyway man it's your knife have fun with it.
