First try at stripping and patina

I think it looks pretty good. You're right, it's not subtle. I'd like to see some more closeups in better light when you get a chance.

I guess I might have to try this myself. I actually like the black coating on the blades, but the stripped/patina look is interesting and probably more functional.
 
Looks good to me! I agree, dyed micarta would tie it all in. Definitely very nicely done for a first attempt, nailed it.
