I recently decided to try to make some sheaths for my izula, HEST, and bk11. I was limited on tools, I had to bend the eyelets over with a hammer but im happy on how they came out (for my first ones at least). here they are tell me what you think :

good job! At some point i'll have room enough to attempt to work with kydex like that.

Can you elaborate on the process you used? Did you make a press, etc?

I used a toaster oven to heat it up and one of those tempurpedic pillow to form it! I thought the heat would mess up the pillow but it didn't do anything to it :D

knifekits.com is where I ordered my kydex and supplies. Ordered the eyelet setter tool off ebay, but I heard the Tandy brand setter doesn't work with knife kits eyelets! Crap!

Just takes time and practice. There's no secrets to it. Really not bad for your first time. You don't want to see my first.

Looks good. If I could have done it all over, I would have invested it all the right tools from the start. They pay for themselves in just a few sheaths. You'd be surprised how many family and friends start wanting sheaths for knives, axes, flashlights, pistol magazines etc.
Knifekits.com has rivet dies for under $40 last I checked. Then you can find the cheapest arbor press on ebay and make the rivet pressing go a lot faster.
Have fun.

wow dude, great job. i've been dying to try this myself, as i have a few knives i wanna make sheaths for. i'm just a little cautious about dropping the cash for all the supplies. you said you used the sheath kit and a tempurpedic pillow, but what did you use as a press? did you make one or use c-clamps to compress it to the blade?

One idea I had is to leave an extra flap of kydex and fold it over to make a pocket clip. Also it needs a version with a 2" belt loop on each side.
