My first two attempts at knife making are a small bladed hunter fashioned after my Dozier Slim Outdoorsman and the other is a simple Kiridashi. It has a bit of a higher profiles shape than a lot of Kiridashis but I had seen a few this shape and liked them a lot. Anyway I will be sending both knives out this week for heat treat. Since pic was taken I've added a lanyard hole. I also hammered on it a bit to give it an aged and hammered look. I used a piece of .187" 0-1 I had in my roll around at work that was just screaming to be used. I've left the cutting edge .030"-.035" before HT.

Any pros, cons, or critiques? Thanks in advance guys!

Jay

I like that profile much more than how some people make it look like they put edge on a bar. Can you fit four fingers on that?

Yes the profile easily fits four fingers.

I think the point it pretty stout yet being its still plenty thick but I guess I will see if it will be an issue. Like I said I'm new to this so I will live and learn. Hahaha.....

Looks really nice. Clean grind on that. Is this going to be a steel handled knife, or wrapped? I think this one would look good in a bare steel handle with some ferric, or blued.

I was planning on just leaving it bare metal. Id like to do a couple more with some type of wrap.

Thank you for the compliments guys!!!

Jay
