The Ergohunter line appeared as a new innovation in the 2009 catalog. Three models available. 495-420HC Black Alcryn handle, 497-12C27M Rosewood Dymondwood, 498-S30V Black Alcryn with Dymondwood inlays. I have all three versions, but only one 2009 model, the 497 Ergo Avid

Several years ago, when I had more time on my hands than common sense, I went through the Buck catalogs and listed every production model in each catalog. There were a few catalogs missing, and I probably made some errors. However, once you have a database you might as well use it. The catalog data end with 2014, and someday I may bring it up to date. With a little manipulation I came up with a list showing the number of new models for each year. You'll notice that starting around the year 2000 the number of new models increases. I think the main reason for that is that BUCK made a slight change. For example if a knife was available in three grades of steel then that meant that there were three different models—think Avid, Select, Pro. Anyway, here is the list.

From 1964, the 110 1st Version, 1st Variation has horizontal BUCK stamp on the right side of the blade and a thin steel spacer. The spacer was an integrated spacer/spring and was not very durable.
