First Victorinox ever

Very good point, znapschatz.
I do not recommend removing the nib. Just saying you can do it if you want.
I also carry my medium SAKs using the lanyard as you described.
For carrying a SAK of more than 4 layers, I prefer a belt case.

It's funny how some folks can pocket carry a SwissChamp, while others are not comfortable with anything over 2 layers.

Thanks for the advice, I will never remove the nib, as I may need the keyring later. Probably just remove the keyring temporarily, as it spoils the look of the knife a bit.

I'll look into the lanyard suggestion as well, but does this mean you have to unclip it from your belt every time you need to pull out the knife?
And when you unclip won't you have the cord (or part of it) attached to the knife?
Or do you just detach the keyring from the lanyard?

I was also initially concerned that a 4 layer SAK would be a bit too big for comfort. So I went to a store, and got my hands on one, I immediately realised its 'bulk' was exaggerated. And both my cellphone and my wallet were more noticeable in my pocket. So I think 4 layers is the sweet spot for pocketable SAKs.

Do they really wear out pockets?, it's a cellidor case not Alox.
Cause I bought it as an EDC, so it's going to be in my pocket a lot, I mostly wear jeans though, so they shouldn't wear out anytime soon.
...
Can you remove the keyring, as it's going to be in my pocket, and I heard the keyring can get in the way of some tools?

It was the keyring nib that wore through my pockets I think. These days I carry a knife alongside my wallet, so if it's got a protrusion of some sort I stick it upwards to avoid rubbing the bottom of the pocket out. However, I don't find the key ring itself gets in the way of anything.
Another use I someties put the hook to is tightening up a knot if I can't get a good grip. Wrap the line around the hook or thread it through a loop, & pull on the SAK body as a handle. As for the shopping bag idea, I have used that when carting a load of gear from the car park to site before, and it certainly saved my fingers from feeling like they'd been cut through by the plastic bag.

.

There is a quick release clip on the shoestring that attaches to the keyring. To "deploy" the SAK, I detach the clip from the keyring, an extra step but quick to do and has never been an issue for me. With practice, I can unclip one-handed. On the few occasions when a lanyard is needed, I keep the SAK clipped, remove the shoestring from my belt and loop it over my wrist with a pre-tied knot opening.

BTW, sometimes a piece of string can come in handy. To add utility, I knot the string at intervals for d&d measuring.
