First Victorinox! What was yours?

Mine was a Victorinox Flash 4GB. It has the ruby handles, 4GB flash drive, ballpoint pen, led light, blade, scissors, and nail file. It was a gift from my brother and has great sentimental value. Since then I purchased a Victorinox Pioneer which stays in my backpack, and a Classic SD for my wife.

This was my first Vic. My parents gave it to me - 34 years ago. I was six years old.

My first was the vic champ that I bought while serving in the Marines some 30 years ago.

The first multitools I had were some no-brand remakes of vics (Tinker and Farmer I guess). My first real Vic was a Climber.

Anyways, I was wondering; what was your first SAK, and do you still have it?

My grandparents made their last trip to Switzerland in the mid-1980s. He brought back SAKs for all the grandkids.

By "pre-Recruit" I mean it is an older, cheaper version. No keyring, toothpick or tweezers. The shield was the old shape, and was molded into the scale and painted. The paint's worn off now. The bottle opener doesn't lock at 90°. I don't know how big the Recruits are now, but mine is the same size as the small Tinker.

Yes, I still have it, but I think the other five grandkids all lost theirs.

I think it may be a slippery slope for you now. You'll find that you want a just a couple more tools. Then, you'll get a model that has them, and miss the compactness of the Recruit. Then, you'll decide to either have all the tools and belt carry, or go more minimal and pocket carry, wondering all the while if there is an ideal solution. :)

Good luck!

Mine was a Vic "Officer Suisse"? That's stamped on the blade anyhow. It has the big blade, pen blade, reamer, can opener, bottle cap lifter, PLIERS, scissors, phillips head and tweezers, toothpick. Got it as a Christmas gift circa 1987, maybe the best gift I ever received from my mother. Handling it right now haha!

Sounds like a Fieldmaster to me...

91mm Tinker, given to me by my grandfather in 1993. The Phillips driver has the can-key assist slot on it, whatever it may be called. The tip is broken off the main blade, and it is missing the toothpick, tweezers, and keyring, but the snap is still great, and works just fine. It is no longer carried out of sentimentality.

Mine was a red soldier my dad gave it to me for my birthday, made holes in the conkers great knife :)

Mine was either a red Classic SD or a Recruit (can't remember). I still have the Recruit; my daughter had the Classic SD.

Mine was an older model Tinker,I got it from an antique store near mint condition but it's been well used over the past 2 years

Note the clip blade as opposed to a pen blade

And the phillips driver has a file on it

I got a Tinker 11 years ago as a 15th anniversary gift from my employer.
I keep it with my work keys.
No where near my favorite folder, never really considered buying another Victorinox or Wegner.
I may try a Hunter but I doubt it.

My Tinker also has Officer Suisse on the large blade

Mine was a Tinker I think I was 10 or so. Surprised I still have it. Though at one point when I was 14-15 years old I used the blade to jump a solenoid on a mower so it burned the tip off :(

My first victorinox/wenger was a bsa victorinox classic SD I got when I was a boy scout. I lost it when I was out collecting money on my paper route. I remember my dad took me to look for it, but it was long gone. I still, however, do have my 1st knife, an Imperial bsa marked knife which has the tools of an old vic soldier.
