Thanks Dave and Howard:)

Dave,

I have heard that said by other people before. I actually hope to be able to learn non-traditional types of energy/body work from folks I've met in the last year or so..they do some amazing things!! My goal is to be someone who helps people find their way back to their true selves, and I think part of that process can be started by freeing the "stuck places" in their bodies. I hope that they may see me as an example of someone who is happy and peaceful and then get curious as to how I got this way---that's how I met my mentor/teacher I just felt the peace and kindness coming from him, and something in me responded instantly---and once I had felt it I knew that I had to do whatever I could to get what he had. I'm still working at it, but I am happier than I've ever been and I expect things to get even better. (and before anyone starts thinking it I have NOT popped a whole bottle of anti-depressents;) ) I am med free:D

MauiRob I think you might look into some Chinese meridian acupuncture points message as well. I had try that, smoothed out my aching back. :)

btw, shall we call you "MauiRub" ?? :D........my bad :o

btw, shall we call you "MauiRub"

LOL!:D

Hawaiians have a form of massage called Lomi Lomi that you can occasionally find on the mainland....

Thanks for the tip on the Chinese meridian technique:)

The back section of the weekly newspapers are chock full of adds showing hot asian gals named Miranda who specialize in massage. NFL hall of famer Jerry Rice was found hiding in a linen closet when the Fremont Police raided one such massage establishment and arrested several massuers.
I'm not taking shots at your new vocation. I'm certain that most practicioners of the trade are actually quite legit.

My girlfriend is terrified of getting a massage because she's afraid she'll get so relaxed whe might fart. Not kidding!

Anyway, best of luck. The few people I've met in the business like the flexibility and personal client aspect of it.

Sutcliffe,

yes unfortunately there are prostitutes who pose as massage practitioners. There are also rapists who pose as police officers and firemen (as was seen recently in NY city IIRC), pedophiles who pose as security guards, etc.. etc.. Just one of those unfortunate things I guess.

Make sure you are going to someone who is a Liscensed Massage Therapist. While it could be a hot asian woman named miranda, she would only be interested in traditional massage techniques that were not illegal.;)

I had not heard of "fart Phobia" before, but now that you mention it, it makes sense:D

I keep seeing this bottle of Maui Rob's tanning lotion.... and there's a crazy guy, bald, with a Islander Shirt and a khuk on the lable.

Heck if it's gonna have lanolin we ought to market it to nursing moms and dairy farmers too. Sort of a Dr. Bronner's(sp?) do it all type thing.

I've GOT IT! You and I can build an old timey wooden wagon, horse drawn of course. And travel the country selling it like the old snake oil salesmen. You could do shooting demos, I could do massage....You could sell books off the back too! If Yangdu wants on board we could move khuks too!

The roving munk yangdu maui wagon. Yessir. In a way, this forum is a steamship, and we are all of us just pluggin along.

I'm gonna have to think on this for awhile, I'll try to get back to you later....

To borrow a line from Kis.....
mutter, mutter, mutter.:D ;)

Hey Rob, good for you! My older sister is an LMT who also does a lot of reiki/energy work, it seems like it's a good combination. Good luck & hope you stick with it. :)
